WHEN WILL REGISTRATION FOR THE INDY HALF MARATHON, 10K, 5K, AND KIDS ONE MILE RUN OPEN?

2025 INDYTHON registration opens on Monumental Race Weekend at 4:00 p.m. ET Thursday, November 7 through 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, November 10. Registration will re-open 12:00 a.m. ET January 1, 2025 for Resolution Launch. Be one of the first 1,000 participants to secure special resolution pricing.

Single event registration opens on March 1 and closes at noon ET on Wednesday, October 1, unless the race sells out before this date.

In-person registration may be available at the Expo & Packet Pickup on Friday, October 3, subject to availability.

DO YOU OFFER A MILITARY OR FIRST RESPONDER DISCOUNT?

Beyond Monumental is honored to offer a discount to active U.S. Military members and their immediate family members, U.S. Military veterans and their immediate family members, and active and retired first responders (law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, and emergency management officials) and their immediate family members. Qualified individuals can receive a 10 percent (10%) discount off the price at the time of registration.

Email a copy of your or your immediate family member’s military or work photo ID or DD214 to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG to request the discount.

MAY I UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE MY RACE REGISTRATION?

Upgrading your registration includes changing to a longer distance and changing to a shorter distance that is more expensive than your original registration fee. You must pay the price difference to upgrade (plus processing fees); we do not offer refunds to downgrade.

You can log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT to process your upgrade/downgrade until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, subject to availability.
– There is no additional fee to upgrade/downgrade before the above deadline.

You may submit a request to upgrade/downgrade to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG from Thursday, September 4, 2025, until noon ET on Friday, September 27, 2025, subject to availability.
– There is a $10.00 fee (plus processing fees) to upgrade/downgrade from September 4-October 4, 2025.

Any requests after noon ET on September 27, must be handled in person with Runner Services at Packet Pickup, subject to availability and applicable fees.

MAY I DEFER MY RACE REGISTRATION?

We offer deferrals to the 2025 Event with proof of injury, pregnancy, or military deployment. The deferral fee is $20.00 (plus processing fees). Please submit your supporting doctor’s note or proof of deployment to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG by 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

To remain fair and consistent, deferrals will only be applicable and approved for the injured, pregnant, or deployed participant.

MAY I TRANSFER MY RACE REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

You can transfer your registration until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. There is a $20.00 fee (plus processing fees) to transfer a registration.

Log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and select the “Transfer an Existing Entry to a New Registrant” option. You will receive a transfer code via email to give to the new participant to transfer themself into the race.

You may not transfer your registration after the above deadline or give, exchange, or sell your participant bib to any other person.

WHAT IF I ENTERED THE WRONG INFORMATION WHEN I REGISTERED OR I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE SOMETHING ON MY REGISTRATION?

Log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT to update your information. Email our team at INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG with questions or if you need help.

WHAT IS THE CUTOFF DATE TO CUSTOMIZE THE NAME ON MY RACE BIB?

You must be registered for the Event by 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, to customize the name on your race bib.

Your name will not be custom printed on your race bib if you register or modify your race registration after the deadline.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?

Yes. They must present the email that includes your ASSIGNED RACE BIB NUMBER or a copy of your government-issued photo ID. Digital or printed copies of the email and government-issued photo ID are acceptable for Packet Pickup.

MAY I PICK UP MY PACKET ON RACE DAY?

You can purchase Race Day Packet Will Call when you register or add it later by logging into your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and selecting Buy Products. Quantities are limited and subject to availability.

Race Day Packet Will Call is located next to the Runner Services tent on race morning. Participants may begin picking up their will call packets at 6:30 a.m. ET.

Please note, Race Day Will Call is only available to those who pre-purchased Will Call. All other packets must be picked up at the Indy Half Expo on Friday, October 3. Any failure to do so may results in additional fees on race morning.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY RACE BIB?

Registered participants must wear their assigned race bib at all times during the Event. Your bib should be worn conspicuously on the front (and back when applicable) for the entire Event.

No one is allowed to participate in the Event without their assigned race bib.

Can I RUN or WALK WITH MY STROLLER?

You WILL NOT be allowed to participate with animals, bicycles, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates, inline skates, or any other not approved wheeled devices.

WHAT ARE THE RACE TIME LIMITS?

All race participants must maintain a pace of approximately 18:00 per mile. No times are recorded after 12:10 p.m. for the half marathon.

Continuing on the course after course closure is at your own risk. You will be asked by the Lawrence Police Department to move off the streets to allow for vehicle traffic. Finisher medals will be awarded only to those finishing within the specified time limit.

HOW WILL THE START AREA AND WAVES WORK ON RACE MORNING?

The Event will use multiple waves*. What does a wave start mean?

– The race will have multiple start times.
– The Half Marathon and 10K will be broken into separate “waves” of participants, based on the expected finish times provided during registration.
– Participants will line up in their pre-assigned wave as indicated on their race bib. Participants may move back to a slower wave, but will not be allowed to move up to a faster wave on Race Day.
– The event is chip timed so your official time will remain unaffected.

* Start procedures subject to change based on needs at the time of the race.

WILL THE HALF MARATHON HAVE PACERS?

Yes. Half marathon pacers will cover, at a minimum: 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, and 3:55.

Other paces may be available based on the number of available pacers and estimated finish times for the field.

WILL I GET MY THROW-AWAY ITEMS BACK?

No. All items (clothes, hats, gloves, etc.) discarded along the course will be picked up and donated to a local charity.

To help make the race start experience as safe as possible for all participants, please discard throw-away items over the fence to help keep the roadway clear of hazards.

When on the course please discard clothing on sidewalks and at Aid Stations when possible.

WHAT IS ‘KILL THE HILL’ AND HOW DO I COMPETE?

The Kill the Hill challenge can be found along the half marathon course between miles 10 and 11. It is a ~320-meter segment that starts around Delaware Lake and follows Harrison Trace Trail east uphill. There will be timing mats at the start and end of this segment for participants to show off their speed. Awards will be given to the top finishers in the Youth, Open, and Masters divisions.

Overall winners and age group winners are not eligible to win the Kill the Hill awards as well.

WILL ENERGY GELS BE AVAILABLE ON THE COURSE?

Yes, energy gels will be available along the Half Marathon course near mile 8.5.

WHAT HYDRATION WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE COURSE?

Water stops for the half marathon are located at miles 2, 4, 5.5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and finish.

Water stops for the 10K are located at miles 1.5 and 3.

There is one water stop on the 5K course around mile 1.5.

On-course hydration will be provided by Beyond Monumental’s official hydration provider, NUUN HYDRATION. Nuun Endurance Lemon Lime is the expected flavor available on the full and half marathon courses.

WILL RESTROOMS BE AVAILABLE ON THE COURSE?

Port-o-lets will be available on the course, approximately every three miles. You will also pass Fort Harrison State Park restroom facilities several times while inside the park.

We ask that you please be kind and courteous to the local residents and neighborhoods.

WHO WILL RECEIVE AGE GROUP AWARDS?

HALF MARATHON AND 10K – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time. 10-11, 12-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over

5K – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time. 11 & under, 12-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over

Elite Athletes are not be eligible for Age Group Awards.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL AWARDS BE DISTRIBUTED?

All finishers will receive a medal in the Finish Chute.

The top finisher in each age group will earn an Age Group Award!

– All age group winners must pick up their award at the Results & Awards Tent on Race Day. Be sure to hang out and enjoy the Post Race Celebration to see if you receive an Age Group Award!

Elite Athletes are not eligible for Age Group Awards.

HOW CAN I CHECK MY RESULTS?

There are several different ways to check your results after you finish.

– Visit the Results & Awards Tent in the Post Race Celebration to receive a printout of your finish time.
– View live results at WWW.INDYHALFMARATHON.COM.
– Download the Beyond Monumental mobile app in your favorite app store.

If you have questions about your results, please visit the Results & Awards Tent during the race or e-mail INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG after the race.

WHAT IS INDYTHON?

INDYTHON unites Beyond Monumental’s annual events and finishers earn an extra medal and swag!

INDYTHON Premier: Complete the Indianapolis 5K and Monumental Mile, the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben, and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to earn INDYTHON Premier awards. 

INDYTHON Ultra: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance greater than 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON Ultra awards.

INDYTHON: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance less than or equal to 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON awards.

WHAT DOES MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT SUPPORT?

Beyond Monumental is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from Beyond Monumental events support the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement, a seven-to-nine-week youth running program that culminates with students running a 5K.
